MALAYSIA has been recognized to provide leadership in Islamic Finance Banking and Finance (IF) education worldwide. Grooming the next generation of IF Educators is vital for the future of IF especially in ASEAN Economic Community (AEC). For this reason, ICIFE aims to fast track and groom the next generation of IF Educators in ASEAN that can steer the IF industry, in the right direction focusing its network at the universities.
On 9th September ICIFE Exco Meeting held at Institute of Islamic Banking and Finance (IIBF) in the main campus of International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), it was resolved that ICIFE signed Memorandum of Collaboration (MoC) with two subsidiary companies of IIUM Holdings namely IIUM Centre for Continuing Education (ICCE) and IIUM Shariah Advisory Services (ISAS). Director Dr. Haji Zulkifly Baharom represented ICIFE whereas GM Br Ahmad Zikri Othman signed for ICCE and GM/Project Consultant Br Bahavddeen Shaik Allauddin represented ISAS respectively. The signing ceremony was witnessed by Prof Dr. Khaliq Ahmad, ICIFE Founding President and Tuan Haji Naharuddin, Group CEO of IIUM Holdings, ICIFE Vice President, Prof Nor Hayati Ahmad and all Exco Members. This MoU will pave the way for organizing joint IFE seminars.
Earlier on 19 August 2016 in conjunction with the closing ceremony of HRDF Train The Trainer Certification Program, ICIFE signed MoC with CRESCENT at IIUM Jalan Duta Campus. This MoU has provided opportunities for ICIFE to use CRESCENT facilities to conduct its trainings, workshops and seminars in addition to usage of facilities at IIBF. All these three organizations: ICCE, ISAS and CRESCENT also signed up as full paying ICIFE Institutional Members. It has thus encouraged more institutions to step forward.
