On the eve of Ramadan, there are truly interesting happenings around ICIFE which the Secretariat would like to share with you that on 3rd June 2016 (Thursday) Hon. Mujiv S. Hataman, the Regional Governor of Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) and his wife, Hon. Sitti Djalia A. Turabin-Hataman, Congresswoman of Philippines House of Representatives visited IIiBF and met ICIFE President Prof Khaliq Ahmad. They (Governor and Congresswoman Hataman) had just been re-elected in their respective positions at the May 2016 Philippines General Election. Heartiest congratulations!
Governor Mujiv came to Kuala Lumpur for the Philippines Government (GPH) and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) Peace Panels successfully ended two-day special meeting on 30th May 2016. The GPH and MILF, in a joint statement said both parties signed the Declaration of Continuity of the Partnership in the Bangsamoro Peace Process that sought to ensure the full implementation of the Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro in the next administration under Phil President Duterte.
During the meeting with President Prof Khalid, Governor Mujiv and Congresswoman Hataman confirmed sending 15 delegations from Mindanao to attend one week training on Islamic Banking an Finance after Ramadan. This program coordinated by ICIFE similar to training package offered to the Libyan Bankers.
Governor Mujiv and Congresswoman Hataman assured President Prof Khaliq that they agreed joining as sponsoring partners for ICIFE 3rd AGM planned to be held in Manila Philippines on 18th February 2017. In recognition of this valuable commitment, ICIFE then conferred Governor Mujiv as Honorary Member.
On 4th June 2016 (Friday) Governor Mujiv and Congresswoman Hataman paid a courtesy on ICIFE Eminent Member of International Advisory Board, YBhg Prof Tan Sri Dato’ Dzulkifli A Razak who is also Chairperson, Board of Directors of Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) in Nilai. They also met USIM Vice Chancellor, YBhg Prof Dato’ Dr. Musa Ahmad. They’ve agreed to follow through with collaborations.
Earlier on 31st May 2016, Prof Tan Sri Dzul received a courtesy from Hon.Jun Pacalioga, the Mayor of Dumingang Municipality, Philippines who was the recipient of One-World-Award Winner 2012 at Legau, Germany. Mayor Jun won this prestigious international award for his exemplary performance in poverty eradication governance, organic best practices, economy, environment and culture and social aspects.
